Hi, my name is Yaire Guzman, a senior at New Jersey City University and working on a Bachelor's Degree in Health Science. I'm Ecuadorian and Puerto Rican. I have lived in Jersey City my whole life but I was raised in Hoboken surrounded by a ton of family. Both my parents and my older sister helped me become literate. My dad spoke English and my mom spoke Spanish. When it came to homework my mom would mostly help me and with her doing so I was able to learn more Spanish. By the age of six I was bilingual speaking both Spanish and English fluently. I started school at the age of four. My parents attempted to put me into pre-school at the age of three however I wasn't a big fan of preschool and didn't go back after the first day. Once I turned four I entered kindergarten.
